Beyond the Threats: The People of Cyjax

Beyond the Threats: The People of Cyjax

As a freshly graduated master’s student, I was on the hunt for something exciting to kickstart my marketing career in the UK. I was craving something new, an opportunity to learn and grow in an area I’d never ventured into before. Cyjax offered just that! I was keen to dive into the unknown and expand my knowledge in a whole new industry. And here I am, loving the challenge and the learning curve!

I’m the Marketing Assistant at Cyjax, where I’m basically best friends with Canva, HubSpot, and LinkedIn, spending my days brainstorming ideas and pretending my creative chaos is part of the plan!

The culture at Cyjax is incredibly friendly and supportive, everyone’s always happy to help solve doubts without any judgment. Coming from a non-cybersecurity background, I never felt “dumb” because my questions were always taken seriously. Plus, the team is super funny, so there’s never a dull moment!

Of course, working every day at Cyjax is memorable 😉, but the real highlight was our recent offsite dart battle. I boldly named myself “winner” on the scoreboard before we even started, then proceeded to come dead last in every round. Not my proudest moment, but definitely a memorable one!

Since joining Cyjax, I’ve really levelled up my content writing skills. I wasn’t super confident in writing blogs before, but now I’ve written a few, and I’m feeling way more confident about it! Also, I’ve mastered InDesign, pretty proud of myself for not getting completely lost in that software!

I can have dessert for breakfast, lunch, lunch#2, lunch#3, lunch#4, and maybe even a couple more meals in one day—and never get bored. Yep, major sweet tooth here!

My go-to productivity hack is a physical to-do list. While having a to-do list is great, there’s something particularly satisfying about physically crossing off tasks as you complete them. I love seeing my notepad filled with sticky notes, even if one of the tasks is just to open my laptop!

I’m not really into nonfiction or self-help books, so my book list might be a bit embarrassing; it’s mostly fictional! The last book I read was Sunburn by Chloe Howarth, a sapphic coming-of-age story about Lucy navigating love, self-discovery, and growing up in a small, conservative Irish village.

If I could master any skill instantly, it would be excelling at sports. I’ve never been into sports, but now I find myself wishing I’d picked up a few skills along the way. Currently, I’m obsessed with tennis and hoping to become a pro sooner rather than later! 🎾
